Choosing a Color

Choosing a color on-line can be difficult and worrisome. All of the Storchenwiege colors are beautiful, however, you need to pick the color that fits you best in all respects. It needs to go well with your clothes, your personality, your mood, your baby, and your life in general. Your Storchenwiege not only needs to fit your criteria but also that of your spouse. Since a Storchenwiege baby sling is usually used daily and for years and for several children, we hope you will find this color evaluation helpful. If you have further questions, any of the Storchenwiege dealers will be happy to assist you in your quest to find "your" Storchenwiege. None of the  Storchenwiege baby slings, except the Louise patterns, have a backside to the fabric meaning they are reversible.
Your Leo diamond weave is the softest with a cuddly soft feeling of flannel, yet it looks much dressier. The stripes are soft to the touch as well but have just a little bit sturdier feel. Both will support you and your baby properly for many hours of baby wearing enjoyment in sunshine, rain, and snow.

Anna
Anna is considered the most vibrant of all the Storchenwiege fabrics.

The base color is a rich crimson red. The other colors are woven in with our unique technique in stripes including crimson red, orange, tangerine orange (looks like hot pink in the picture to the left) , subtle lime green, and dark violet. The violet and green are the center third of the wrap and is a balanced contrast with the warm colors which exentuates them. It is bright and colorful. It brightens up any bodies day. It looks good wearing a boy or girl and for a mother or father.

 Ulli
Ulli would be considered the most feminine of the Storchenwiege fabrics, if there was one that could be considered feminine.

The base color is rich crimson red. The other colors are woven in with our unique technique in stripes including crimson red, light magenta, lavender (light violet), and white. A dark violet center stripe takes about 1/5 of the width and has two subtle lime green accent stripes. The colors in the Ulli are more subtle than the colors in the vibrant Anna fabric.

Some people say the color grew on them after a couple of days because it wasn't as bright as they originally expected. Others find it is love at first sight. This fabric matches pretty much anything. You'll be amazed at how colorful and elegant it is. It accomoadets both "back row people" and "front row people."

Colors in Color Therapy

Just for fun we added what experts say about colors. It might just give you the last bit of help that you need to know what color/patter is best suited for you.

Theo Gimble is a present-day researcher in the field of colors. He researches how visible rays affect and can help a person. A few of his findings are

Blue: Blue light reduces blood pressure, eases asthmatic attacks, helps insomnia and creates a state of relaxation and peace.Blue symbolizes inspiration , devotion, peace and tranquility. It is known to be an appetite supressor. It is suggested to use blue plates if one would like to have less appetite in the kitchen.

Indigo: Indigo comprises blue and violet. It works with the pituitary gland and encompasses the organs of sight and hearing. It also embraces other aspects of the face. It speaks of deep devotion, carried with a sense of dignity and unconditional love. It is also responsible for transcendent vision and for allwoing us the ability to hear the voice of our own intuition. It is a color which also helps to purify the bloodstream.

Violet: Violet is the color of spirituality, self-respect and dignity. Violet is the color related to insight and the higher self. It is an inspirational color. A pale lilac shows cosmic consciousness and love for humanity, a blish purple, transcendent idealism.

Magenta: Magenta is the color of letting go. On the emotional level, magenta signifies letting go of feelings which are no longer relevant. Perhabs we are still living in a relationship that has ended or in a situation that has happened. In order to grow and learn from our present situation, we have to let go emotionally of the past. Not easy. On a physical lever, it means relinquishing a physical activity which is no longer right for us. It bould be a sport or some other activity in which we are partaking.  When magenta turns into a very pale pink, it becomes the color of spiritual love.

Red: Red has the reverse effect. It raises blood pressure and creates over-activity, but it is helpful in cases of anaemia. A color which earths a person to this planet. Red shows generosity, ambition and affection. Red is a very powerful energizer and stimulant. Sometimes thought of being related to the masculine energy. Through its effect on the haemoglobin, it increases energy, raises body temperature and improves the circulation.

Orange: Orange light lifts depression and replaces it by a feeling of happiness and joy. Orange is the symbol of energy. It is related to the female reproductive organs and the adrenal glands. It is akin to the feminine energy, the energy of creaton. It is more gentle than the dynamic, masculine energy of red but is complementary to it. Therefore these two colors should be worked in balance and harmony. Orange is the color of joy and dance.

Gold: Gold  comprises yellow and orange and is the complementary color of indigo. It is the color of wisdom, associated with mysticism. Gold has the healing quality associated with vitality.

Green: Green light dissolves virgin cell structure and is therefore beneficial in cases of cancer. Green is the color of balance, harmony and sympathy. Green has antiseptic properties enabling it to be used for infections. It can detoxify the body and bring the negative and positive energies into balance. It also balances the body, mind and spirit.

Turquoise: Turquoise helps strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation, a great color for infections.

Yellos: Yellow (yellow doesn't show up so we are using black to describe yellow). Yellow helped arthritic sufferers by dissolving the calcium deposits in the joints. Yellow is the symbol of the mind and intellect. The yellow rays carry positive magnetic currents which are inspiring and stimulating. They strengthen the nerves and stimulate the higher mentality. This is the color which activates the motor nerves in the physical body and can therefore generate energy in the muscles.

Visible rays, which are the seven colors of the spectrum, can also affect a person and be used for healing with practically no side effects.

To use color therapy it is best to use a silk or 100% cotton material we can wear as piece of clothing (or baby sling) of the color we need. The shirts under the cloths should be white for the best effect.
